The Argentine Football Association (AFA) announced that AFA Play, its SVOD OTT launched in late 2019, is now available for free for a 60-day period, due to the global context linked to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) . The sports platform is available on its web version, and it is possible to download the app from Google Play and the Apple App Store. It can also be accessed from smart TVs through Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Fire TV.
‘We are going through a very difficult stage for the entire population, and football is no stranger to this context. At AFA we want to encourage people to stay at home and to follow all the recommendations given by the Argentine Government. AFA Play, our content and entertainment platform, is a good way to provide content related to football and our National Teams at this stage where there are no competitions. On this platform people can enjoy historical matches, documentaries, series, the intimacy of our National Teams and a lot of interesting material for all Argentine football lovers. We invite all people to enjoy it. We want AFA Play to be a tool to continue bringing Argentine football closer to the whole world, and a contribution in these difficult times for everyone’, said Claudio Tapia, AFA’s President.
Some of the content available on AFA Play focus on the best matches in the Argentine National Team history, life stories of National Teams players and on showing the intimacy of the Major National Team, with exclusive cameras that will broadcast the behind-the-scenes of footballers. People can also access all the goals of the most important footballers in the Argentine National Team’s history. Apart from that, and as announced at its launch, the platform has sections linked to fans, where they tell stories about their fanaticism for Argentina and an exclusive series with all the intimacy of the Sub 23 National Team, champion in the Colombia 2020 Pre-Olympic Tournament .
The AFA platform has subtitles in Spanish, English and Chinese. Technical support for the OTT was provided by ViewLift.
