Chris Mushohwe Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services officially declared that the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) news bulletins will now be available in nine different languages. After the conference with BAZ CEO and ZBC CEO it seems that progress is being made in order to improve TV services in the country.
The Minister declared yesterday “We are here for the launch of television news bulletins in nine national languages that were formerly marginalized. In fact, with this occasion we are giving such languages the respect they deserve as Zimbabwean languages as well as fulfilling the dictates of our constitution, which recognizes 16 national languages,”
The progress is not new, since 2016 four languages were already available and five have been add this year. Mushohwe declared that the remaining languages will soon be included on the TV channel.
