YuppTV to raise USD50 million to fund expansion in India

YuppTV, the US-based Internet TV provider, has launched in India. The company says that it will raise as much as USD50 million to expand its operations in the country.

Chief Operating Office of YuppTV, Uday Reddy, also believes that the company will generate USD20 to USD30 million in revenue in the current fiscal. The video streaming service currently provides over 200 TV channels in 12 languages. Users can access Live as well as recorded TV via the platform.

“Our vision is to liberate entertainment, to make TV accessible to all, with a rich video viewing experience. We are breaking stereotypes, disrupting the market with OTT technology, providing easy access to unlimited content over public internet,” Reddy said.

YuppTV can be access via smart TVs, tablets and smartphones. The app is available on iOS and Android stores. “YuppTV service will be a one-stop shop for all entertainment. A new way to TV is here and it will revolutionise the way television is watched by giving the control to the user to watch TV at his convenience,” said Reddy, according to TelevisionPost.
