YouTube announced the launch of YouTube Live, a new live television service that will include broadcast and cable networks from the United States, for USD 35 a month.

The package will have around 45 channels, among them, CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN, Fox Sports, TNT and NBCSN. In addition, it will it include Showtime as an add-on for an additional fee. YouTube Red content will be also available.  Most of the groups that are part of the offer, such as Viacom, Discovery, A&E, AMC and Turner, also operate in Latin America although the service was announced only for some markets in the United States.

YouTube TV will join other cord-cutters-oriented services such as Dish’s SlingTV, Sony’s PlayStation Vue, DirecTV Now and soon Hulu.

“There’s no question that millennials love great TV content,” CEO Susan Wojcicki said during the presentation of the service, according to Billboard site. “They don’t want to watch it in a traditional setting. Instead, the younger generation wants to consume TV the way they’re used to consuming content online, live or on demand”, she added.
