YouTube Kids app has arrived on select LG, Sony, and Samsung smart TVs in the 26 countries where the app is currently available, including Latin America.
The app launched over two years ago in the United States and then expanded to other countries worldwide. YouTube said the service has recorded more than 30 billion views and over 8 million weekly active viewers.
The YouTube Kids app will now be available on all 2015 – 2017 LG webOS TVs via the LG content store, all 2013 – 2017 Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-Ray Players that have access to the Samsung App Store, and after a firmware update on 2016-2017 Sony TVs (with the exception of Android TV, which will be available soon).
In a blog post, YouTube said in Latin America, YouTube Kids is available in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Brazil. The service operates in a different platform from YouTube and is specifically designed for children from 2-8 years old.
