ITV Studios Global Entertainment, the worldwide programme distributor, has acquired a raft of sales for new dramas for the Middle East, as well as for the Europe regions.
The satellite broadcaster in Israel, YES, has acquired the drama series, ‘Victoria’, produced by Mammoth Screen, for the Middle East region. The series is an 8.5-hour series that revolves around the longest reigning monarch of the Queen Victoria, who ascends the throne at the tender age of 18.
On the other hand, BBC First has acquired the crime drama series ‘Prime Suspect: Tennison’ for the Middle East region. The series, to recall, is a British police procedural television drama series with Martini as the young Jane Tennison.
Dan Gopal, the executive VP of EMEA distribution and global digital partners at ITVS GE, revealed that: “Victoria continues to have huge global appeal and series two is understandably hotly anticipated. Our slate of new and returning dramas continue to find new homes across EMEA and it is particularly encouraging to see the series playing on multiple broadcast and digital windows in some markets, a fantastic example of the ever-growing demand for great drama on all platforms”.
