Vodafone Qatar is the first telecom operator in the GCC country to launch the 5G network. The 5G network implies speed internet, but more precisely ultra-low latency –offering a shorter time for streaming data between two points.
Vodafone Qatar’s CEO Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al Thani has emphasized that 5G will speed up Qatar’s attempts to become one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world.
On the other hand, the company’s COO Diego Camberos points out a few potential applications of 5G technology, describing how these will enhance the lives of the country’s residents and support Qatar’s progress.
Camberos further supported, “We’re leveraging on a lot of the Vodafone global expertise, so all these are being done somewhere already. We’re burning our global expertise to Qatar to work with Local farmers and local companies to connect them with 5G technology. We’ve in the middle of these developments.”
Vodafone Qatar has effectively tested the 5G network by the end of July before the official launching.
