Venezuelan OTT service VIVOplay announced the launch of its application on Amazon FireTV, expanding its presence in streaming media players.
This way, VIVOplay is a pioneer in Latin America and the US Hispanic market, as it is the first platform available on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon FireTV – in addition to iOS and Android – reaching a penetration of more than 80% of consumers in connected devices for TV worldwide, the company said in a statement.
“For us, it has been very important not only to be on mobiles, tablets and computers, but to extend the user experience to the television. We have the best content providers in Latin America and the best technology partners offering a platform with the best quality”, said Carlos Hulett, CEO and founder of VIVOplay. Some of the technology partners are Smartbox, Akamai and The Platform (Comcast Technologies).
VIVOplay had announced last December that it was already available on Apple TV. The platform offers On Demand and live TV content. Recently, the service added 22 linear channels to its programming lineup, including NTN24, RCN Novelas, Our Tele, Show Bussines Television, Latin Angels, CB24, Caracol, T & C Sports and ¡Hola! TV, among others.
