Videocon, d2h, the direct-to-home (DTH) operator in India, has sealed the pact with the video-on-demand (VOD) platform Sony Liv for its HD Smart Connect set-top box (STB). With this new device, customers will have access to a collection of content which is available on the Sony Liv app.

Viewers will be eligible to an assortment of movies, alongside events revolving around sports, shows, music and TV shows, among others. Access is allowed to Sony Liv through an option available on the HD Smart Connect STB of Videocon d2h.

The device shows 650 channels and services in HD and SD alongside converting any existing TV into a smart TV. Content from applications in the STBs can be browsed as well.

Commenting about the launch, Saurabh Dhoot, the executive chairman of Videocon d2h, said: “We are delighted to partner Sony Liv. This collaboration would strengthen the entertainment apps available on our HD Smart Connect and provide our customers with a large range of entertainment”.

On the other hand, Anil Khera, the CEO of Videocon d2h, revealed: “Our partnership with Sony Liv is yet another step towards creating the highest-quality consumer experience.
