Viacom18, the joint venture between Network18 and Viacom, operating numerous TV channels, has introduced its first animated investigative series for kids across its network. The new series is entitled ‘Gattu battu’ and will kick off in the beginning of May, this year.
Fresh episodes of existing shows will also be available on the network. Nick channel will have new episodes of ‘Motu Potlu’ and ‘Ninja Hattori’ while Sonic will have fresh episodes of ‘Shiva’ and ‘Padma Pakdai’. ‘Oggy & the Cockroaches’ will also be accessible on Sonic, exclusively.
“While Shiva was an instant success for us, Motu Patlu gradually grew to enter the favourites’ list of the viewers’ minds. We are hopeful that Gattu Battu will also ring the same bell in the little viewers’ heads and be on the top of their mind soon enough”, said Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Head, Kids Entertainment, Viacom18.
She also said that: “Nickelodeon endeavors to serve the best entertainment to its young audience. After launching 3 blockbusters made in India shows and creating their eco-system, we are delighted to bring to them yet another winning series, Gattu Battu, that they will surely embrace and make a part of their daily lives”.
“We will have close to 200 episodes of fresh content on all our kids’ channels. These exclude the acquired content. We do 4–5 movies per show every quarter. We have been taking risks by tapping new genres and we felt that investigative is a genre that can be explored. We will continue to look at whitespaces”, Jaipuria noted.
