Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), the network overseeing production, broadcasting and promotion of key Viacom brands, has bagged the format agreements for the popular entertainment show ‘Lip Sync Battle’ across the Middle east and Central and Eastern Europe.
Laura Burrell, Head of Formats & International Programme Sales for Viacom International Media Networks, said: “Lip Sync Battle has had a fantastic international journey since its debut on Spike U.S. in 2015, and we’re delighted to welcome Hungary, Slovakia and Israel to the lip-sync party. Now across 17 territories and with a second season hitting the U.K. soon, Lip Sync Battle has truly become a global phenomenon”.
With this new acquisition of format rights, local version of the program is produced in Hungary, by RTL, in the name of ‘Playback Párbaj’. Screening will kick off on RTL Klub and Viacom’s new Spike channel, RTL Spike. The show is presented by László Gáspár and Zsófi Szabó. An Israeli version of the show already started in October on Keshet, the Israeli commercial television channel.
