Twitter has launched a new tool for live video. The Periscope Producer API offers new ways to share videos as it enables to start broadcasts using professional equipment without the need to connect them via the app.
In October last year, Twitter had previously launched Periscope Producer, which allows the broadcasters to connect their devices, like professional cameras and production software to Periscope. Now, the social network expand the previous offer enabling third-party applications to authenticate Periscope accounts, configure streams, start and stop broadcasts and publish broadcasts to Twitter.
Twitter named four partners: Telestream (Wirecast software), Livestream (Mevo camera), Switchboard Cloud (web platform), and Teradek (video encoders and software applications).
