Chilean network TVN announced the premiere on April 24 of “Günes”, the Turkish series that will be part of the network’s afternoon slot.
This new production comes after the success of “Elif”, which ranks second in ratings with an average of 7 rating points. The most-watched show in the afternoon slot is Mega’s fiction, “Amanda”.
“This new Turkish television series comes to reinforce the afternoon offering”, said Isabel Rodriguez, Executive Producer of Foreign TV Programming at TVN, according to La Tercera. “It has very interesting narrative turns, so it is not the typical television series”.
This Turkish production tells the story of Günes, a woman who had raised alone her three daughters: Selin, Nazli and Peri.
“Turkish series have stopped being a trend a long time ago. In tradeshows there is too much offering and it’s impossible to ignore because Turkey is a big producer of series and teleseries”, commented Rodríguez.
In this way, Turkish productions continue gaining space in the Chilean TV. Last February, the market-leading channel, Mega, acquired three dramas from that country and in early April announced a co-production deal with broadcaster Kanal D.
