TV Cable and CNT announced that they will start airing the national Ecuadorian Soccer League from Sunday, January 29. The matches will be available in a pay-per-view (PPV) model.
Both operators will join DirecTV Ecuador, so far the only pay TV system offering the national league. According to El Telégrafo, the matches will cost USD 15 in SD and USD 20 in HD.
With the incorporation of CNT and TV Cable, now the three largest pay TV operators of the country, in term of subscribers, will offer soccer in their programing, which is one of the most attractive contents for the audience.
Meanwhile, TC Televisión and GamaTV will hold the free-to-air rigths until December, 2017. The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF in Spanish) is already negotiating broadcasting rights for 2018. Recently, it had conversation with executives of Tenfield and Win Sports, among other companies.
