Trace TV, the youth-focused international media group is all in to launch their SVOD service, Trace Play, by the end of this year, as announced by Olivier Laouchez, the company’s CEO. The service will be available in both English and French encompassing 100 countries, including Africa.
In an exclusive interview with NexTV News Africa, Laouchez, said: “We’re investing massively into new digital platforms so we’re going to launch ‘Trace Play’ in the coming weeks, which will be a hybrid model with on-demand content and linear channels”.
According to Laouchez, Trace Play is targeting everyone who is interested in urban culture. The service will include the total offering of Trace, encompassing its slew of linear channels alongside its VOD service. Following the launch, Trace is planning to broaden its original content line-up by bringing in new series.
Four series are in process in the United States, United Kingdom and France. Important investment is being made in content and more series, in the Caribbean and Africa, are in the pipeline. Confident in the future launch of the SVOD service, Laouchez said he is expecting an increase in the number of Trace’s subscribers, by a few hundred thousand.
