TV channels TigoUne and Tigo Music will no longer be part of Colombian programming grids from April. According to the company, it is ‘a strategic business decision’, and it indicated that the channel’s closure ‘will allow us to focus our efforts and resources in our strongest value, based in building digital highways to more Colombians’. They also pointed out that TigoUne is not an expert in content production, a fact that helped to make the decision.
The company highlighted that the contract with the production company responsible for content and programs development for TigoUne and Tigo Music will conclude next Tuesday, April 16th.
Tigo Music’s programming was based on musical contents, specially through videos and interviews with different artists. TigoUne focused itself on family contents, and was also the official ColombiaModa channel, the most important fashion event in the country. TigoUne has ‘five national production thematic channels, which contributes to encourage local TV industry development’. These are TV Agro, Cable News, Cinema+, Mi Gente TV and Win Sports.
