Tigo Sports launches in Costa Rica

Tigo Costa Rica has launched, on a trial basis, the sports network Tigo Sports, following an agreement with Mexican group Multimedios Televisión, La Nación reported. It will be officially launched in the coming weeks and will be available in digital TV and HD packages in channels 709 and 9.
The programming will have a “high percentage” of local content. “We will also focus on professional and amateur sports. We will also have international content and live sporting events,” said Leandro Lagos, director of residential services at Tigo.
“At Tigo we always try to innovate and offer our customers the best connectivity and entertainment, that’s why we are proud to bring Tigo Sports to the Costa Rican market. We believe it appropriate that the ticos, who are fans of sports, can now enjoy this new channel, right at the start of the national championship,” Lagos added.
