Tigo launches One TV platform in Costa Rica

Tigo has launched its One TV platform in Costa Rica, which integrates linear pay TV with OTT VOD services such as Fox and Crackle, among others. In this way, Costa Rica becomes the first market in Central America where the company offers this service.
The platform allows users to access the programming on the TV set and mobile devices. It also has an intelligent recording system, a big data system that adapts the recommendations to the users’ tastes and preferences and a universal search engine, not only for programming but also to find information on actors and casts.
The product is offered in packages with internet from 30 Mbps speed. Prices range from ₡ 41,990 (USD 73) to ₡ 84,990 (USD 148) for new clients, according to La Nación. The most expensive option includes recording up to six simultaneous channels and control and playback from the mobile app.
Tigo launched the One TV platform in September 2017 in Colombia. At that time, the company said that it would expand the service to other markets in which it operates.
