The telecommunications company Millicom – which operates in Latin America under the Tigo brand – ran an agreement with Amazon to include the Amazon Prime Video’s offer in El Salvador. The VOD platform is also available in Bolivia, Colombia and Guatemala.
‘In Tigo we look for great partners and brands like ours, in order to offer consumers something that will surprise them. That’s why we sat down to talk and we achieved this alliance with Amazon, the most valued brand in the world’, said Estela Castillo, Tigo’s marketing manager in El Salvador.
Amazon Prime Video is available in Tigo’s Home plans starting at 10 Mbps. Customers will be able to have content in their postpaid mobile plans, with basic charges from USD 25.99 (VAT included), and they will have three months for free. After this period, customers will pay USD 2.99 plus taxes for the next six months. As of month 10, the final price will be USD 5.99 per month. Those clients who wish to have the Amazon Prime Video’s offer in El Salvador must enter their profile on the website www.mi cuenta.tigo.com.sv.
Amazon Prime Video’s catalog includes more than 4,000 titles, with its own productions. Into the most outstanding ones are the sports series All or Nothing: Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola; and Homecoming, with Julia Robert’s performance. It is currently developing a series of The Lord of the Rings. The platform was officially launched in 2016.
