Tigo Ghana, the telecommunications company, has partnered 2CTV, the mobile content provider, for the launching of Tigo Mobile TV. With this new service, customers will be able to watch live television on their phones seamlessly with more than 25 channels.
Content will be of both local and international category, ranging from news to football, movies and religious channels. Some of the channels include UTV, Joy Prime, CNN, Adom TV, GHOne and the BBC, among others. A subscription for one month will be freely available to Tigo customers.
Tara Squire, Chief Commercial Officer for tiGO, is enthusiastic about the new offer: “with this service, everybody on our network can watch their favourite television programme on-the-go, right from their homes, office or while commuting. We are in the digital age where ensuring ease and convenience is important to customer experience and satisfaction”.
On the other hand, Bright Yeboah, the General Manager of 2CTV, said: “This is a 24/7 service which will give Ghanaians access to a wide range of the most popular free-to-air television stations in Ghana and international satellite networks. Based on our knowledge of the market, the service is available on high-end phones, basic smartphones and some features phones – we want to ensure wider inclusion”.
