The new face of BET in Africa is Nomalanga Shozi

The 23 year old TV personality and Rhythm City actress Nomalanga Shozi has been announced as the new face of BET in Africa where she will also be the host of a new show titled BET Breaks. 

“Disbelief, shock – I was emotional and cried like a baby and I am grateful to Viacom International Media Networks Africa and BET in Africa for the opportunity and for trusting me with such a huge task,” explained Nomalanga in an interview.

“It’s a true honour,” she said.  

 “I am excited to broaden my horizons, to stretch my talent, and to see how I can take an international property like BET Breaks and to localize it to the African audience,” said Nomalanga. 

“I want to show people my different side, South Africa only knows me as an actress and I want them to see my crazy funny side, people only know my serious side.”

Nomalanga also explained that it was an honour to be a part of a platform that celebrated black culture and black excellence.

“To be a part of that narrative as I represent the values and the qualities that the brand stands for it’s an honour to be part of such a global brand.”

 “BET Breaks is going to give a fresh perspective, about African content, to African and Africans will be first to hear about it. It is going to be really funny and interactive.”
