Telecentro launches voice remote

Argentine triple play operator Telecentro has launched a voice remote that let users to access channels, applications and contents. It is available for customers with Smart HD or 4K Ultra HD set-top boxes. In this way, it becomes the first company in Argentina and Latin America to offer this option, said Telecentro in a release.
By pressing a dedicated button on the remote control, users can search for TV channels by name, open applications such as Netflix and search content on YouTube, and series and movies on the on demand platform by simply naming what they want to watch.
The voice remote has a shipping cost of AR$ 500 (USD 14) that will be charged only once. The Smart HD and 4K Ultra HD STBs can be requested through the operator’s Virtual Branch.
“It is important for us to continue innovating and providing the best and most recent experiences to our customers with voice command technology, which has become a global trend and today comes to the country thanks to Telecentro,” said Alberto Pierri, founder and CEO of the company. “We seek to give our users the possibility of controlling the service through the use of the voice, since it seems to us that it is a natural evolution, which makes the service more human and easy to use for adults and children”.
According to the company, all new clients who subscribe to a Full Plan with 100, 300 or 1,000 megabytes will receive a free voice remote. The new device does not require an additional pack, so it does not have a monthly cost.
