SuperSport not bidding for broadcast rights of Ghana Premier League

Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku has revealed that SuperSport is not among the companies claiming broadcasting rights for the Premier League of Ghana. News reports made the headlines claiming that the pay-TV channel owned by SuperSport International and MultiChoice Ghana had made an offer for the league’s broadcast rights and was among the companies in talks with the GFA.

SuperSport held the broadcasting rights for the league for three years. They did a great job, so that many Ghanaians were delighted when it was mentioned among the companies interested in game broadcasting rights

Okraku confirmed that seven media companies have contacted the GFA and that SuperSport is not one of them, and has revealed that the tendering process is now over and the winners will be announced next week. GFA said that for this partnership, it is mainly about capacity research in terms of reach. Okraku added that the Association wants to make sure that the broadcasts of the games are accessible to everyone in the country.
