Starz Play, the subscription video streaming service available in 19 countries across the Middle East and North Africa, has sealed the pact with Sonar Entertainment for the exclusive streaming rights of ‘Taboo’. It is an upcoming British television series which features Tom Hardy, who is also the co-creator and executive producer of the series.
The series is kick-starting early this month on STARZ Play in the Middle East territory. Consisting of eight episodes, the series is created by Steven Knight and distributed across the globe by Sonar Entertainment.
Playing the role of James Keziah Delany, Tom Hardy is the main protagonist in the series. The story took place in 1814 where James, believed to be long dead, comes back home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father’s shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father’s legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.
