A 2-in-1 combo decoder has been launched in Nigeria by StarTimes, redefining the Pay-TV. The digital TV company is proffering an additional entertainment access to its subscribers and will be a first time in Africa. The decoder will have the ability to combine on a single device, the features of both the digital satellite direct-to-home (DTH) and the digital terrestrial television (DTT).
The company has as aim to provide its subscribers with both digital terrestrial and digital satellite television channels, all contents (drama, kiddies, news, sports, music and religion) and other services at their own convenience, using the same decoder. Available on its network, StarTimes provides movie channels like ST Yoruba, irokoworld, irokoplay Amc movies, ST Zone, Orisun, ST Yoruba, and Bollywood channels like Star Plus and Zee Cinema. Music channels like ST music, Nigezie and MTV Base; documentary channels like IDX, Nat Geo Gold and Discovery science; news channels – Al Jazeera and Bloomberg; ST Novela, Wazobia, Fox; Jim Jam, Nickelodeon, Baby TV, Fine Living, among others.
