Chinese group StarTimes announced the acquisition of the broadcasting rights of FIFA 2018 World Cup in Kenya. The media group will also broadcast all other footbalistic events. Mark Lisboa, VP StarTimes commented: “We are delighted to secure the broadcast rights to the 2018 World Cup, a tournament that every soccer fan across the globe looks forward to every four years”.
StarTimes has five sports channels devoted to the competitions with two being in HD the price has been announced at US$ 6 a month. The plurality of the channel will allow to air multiple game at the same time. Once again Mark Lisboa declared: “The fact that StarTimes will bring this showpiece to Kenyan households is a great breakthrough as it demonstrates our progressive commitment to provide access to premium content at the most affordable subscription costs”
The media group will broadcast all of the 64 games live and went from Chinese Super league and Serie A which is a whole other story to handle.
