Starsat Malawi, the digital satellite TV, will now provide its viewers with more channels focusing on local content. Users can access the three new-fangled channels, Zodiak TV, MBC TV and Times TV, through their decoders.

Local content was limited on offer earlier with Starsat, even though more than 95 channels were available.

Speaking about the development, Schlosser Msubango, the sales marketing manager at Starsat Malawi, said: We tried to add a number of local channels after consultations with our customers. As a company, we always try as much as possible to do what our customers want”.

More local channels are expected on Starsat in due course and decoders are accessible in shops across the country. Subscription is free for one month and decoders are sold at 13500 MWK (18.65 USD).

Msubango further said that: “There are no geographical barrier with Starsat decoders. It is viewable in all the districts across the country and we have programs which suit all ages including entertainment, games, kid’s cartoons, World news and many others”.
