Star India, the Indian media and entertainment company, has finally introduced the high-definition (HD) version of its Telugu general entertainment channel, Maa TV.
With the HD version of Maa TV Star’s HD bouquet now has 21 channels, including four local channels launched earlier: Jalsha HD, Star Jalsha Movies HD, Star Pravah HD and Vijay HD.
The HD channel is available on Tata Sky, the direct-to-home (DTH) platform at 45 INR (0.67 USD) for Tata Sky customers. The reference interconnection offer (RIO) rate for Maa HD is at 25 INR (0.37 USD). Subscription to the channel will be free of charge until end of July next year.
The HD bouquet also cater for sports content, comprising of Star Sports Select HD 1 and 2 which are going to be the unique home of worldwide sports such as EPL, Bundesliga, French Open and Wimbledon. Star India, has also acquired the licence for the launching of Telugu movie channel, Maa Movies, in HD version.
