Spark TV airs on DStv in Uganda

Two products of MultiChoice, DStv and GOtv in Uganda, announced officially that Spark TV has started airing on DStv. Spark TV programming is designed to air local content suitable for female audiences.

The general manager of MultiChoice Uganda, Mr Charles Hamya, commented on the partnership between Spark Tv and MultiChoice saying: “We are proud of the fact that we have lived up to our promise of enriching lives and providing customers with local content that they can resonate with. We stand by our decision to continually expand and enrich our channel line out of respect and adherence to customer demands with content they can better identify with.”

According to Ms Agnes Asiimwe Konde, the managing director NTV Uganda and Spark TV, the partnership is intended to leverage on the geographical reach of local content designed for female audiences.

She said: “It gives us great pride to realise that we have shared vision with Multichoice to promote and elevate content for the female audiences. The woman of today needs to be inspired, uplifted through inspirational programming that will make them better citizens.” She added “We are glad that this partnership will enable us reach many more homes and offices tapping into the geographical reach and subscriber base of DStv and GOtv subscribers. This partnership will aid us achieve greater empowerment of the woman which is our aim through educational and inspiring programming.”

Mr Albert Nga, the marketing manager of GOtv made the announcement in Kampala on Monday saying that Spark TV is airing on GoTV on channel 390 and 285 on DSTV. HE also encouraged people who have not yet purchased DSTV to purchase the fully connected kits at US$ 36.83. Mr Nga expressed his gratitude to the partnership saying: “Today we are happy that this channel has joined us. I believe it is time for us to give our viewers the best and what adds value to them.”
