Sky Vision, the production and distribution arm of Sky, has joined hands with Kwesé TV, the pay-TV broadcaster in Africa. Both companies have signed a programming deal which will allow Kwesé to offer content from Sky Vision.
Following this agreement, over 20 factual programs will be available, including ‘Start Up You’ (where young adults can start their own businesses with the chance of winning an investment) and ‘Make me a Millionaire Inventor’ where unsuccessful products are given a second chance to gain popularity (both UK and US version available).
Joseph Hundah, the president and group CEO of Kwesé TV parent company Econet Media, echoed his thoughts: “We pride ourselves in sourcing the very best and premium content for our Kwesé-owned channels. Investing in and supporting Africa’s entrepreneurs is something we are extremely passionate about”.
He further added that: “These shows are an important part of our Kwesé Inc channel which seeks to empower and inspire audiences in an engaging and thought-provoking way. Rich, entertaining and interactive programming is what our audiences are looking for and this is what we will continue to source and deliver”.
Commenting about the deal, Jane Millichip, the managing director at Sky Vision, said: “We’re thrilled that Sky Vision continues to expand its great catalog of factual programming into new regions through partnerships with emerging platforms, such as Kwesé Inc. We’re looking forward to supporting their growth and success in the years ahead”.
