Singapore´s SingTel targets Mobile TV services in India and Indonesia

Singapore Telecommunication (SingTel), telecom, IPTV provider is a part of SingTel group, has announced its increased interest of delivering personalized and relevant TV content through smartphones. The key focus is to deliver Mobile TV service targeting markets like Indian and Indonesia.

Allen Lew, chief executive of SingTel’s new Digital Life unit said,” One key focus for SingTel, will be in television services and delivering more personalized and relevant but fewer choices to customers in developed countries after analyzing viewing behavior. For customers in emerging markets such as India and Indonesia who cannot afford TV at home, SingTel – which has 8 million pay TV subscribers – plans to provide TV services via smartphones”.

SingTel´s mio TV is a mobile TV application that is used to screen latest TV contents on user´s smartphones. The company also plans for strategic acquisition of high technology rich firms in Israel for their digital transformation into multimedia, information and communication technology company.
