South African Broadcasting Corporation has been focused on local content with their 90 percent local objectives. Due to the poor answer of the public the new interim board is to overturn this decision.

Parliament committee investigates on the misadministration inside the broadcaster all the fingers are pointed towards former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng which has claimed this idea to be his own while it has not been subjected to a vote.

The new percentage of local news has been decreased in order to leave time for international content the new share for local subjects will by around 60 percent. in order to justify this choice SABC interim board member Krish Naidoo declared: “We are not diverting from local content. We are just trying for a more structured approach.”  The SABC declared that the new process will be developed with artists as well as communities in order to please a maximum number of people.
