Roku announced five new streaming players -with prices between USD 30 and USD 100- that “offer better performance, improved wireless reception, new convenience features and greater value than ever before”, the company said in a press release.
The most basic devices -Roku Express (USD 30) and Express+ (USD 40) – are five times more powerful than their predecessors and “great for those who are looking to stream to the TV for the first time or extend their Roku OS experience to other TVs in the home”.
The mid-range devices – Streaming Stick (USD 50) y Streaming Stick+ (USD 70) – connect directly to the TV’s HDMI ports. The equipment comes with a voice remote that includes TV power and volume buttons that can control compatible TV models and the Roku Streaming Stick together. Roku Streaming Stick+ includes an advanced wireless receiver and combines brilliant 4K Ultra HD and HDR picture quality with the portability of the popular stick form factor.
In turn, Roku Ultra can stream HD, 4K and 4K HDR with up to 60 frames per second (fps). It features an ethernet port for wired connectivity and a micro SD slot to help speed up streaming channel load times and a headphone jack for private listening. The new devices are expected to be available in stores around October 8.
