Reliance Jio Infocomm a subsidiary of the Indian group Reliance Industries (RIL) has registered over 108.9 million subscribers in March. Launched in 2016, in 83 days Jio crossed 50 million subscribers and 100 million in just 170 days. This means that the company acquired an average of 600.000 subscribers daily.
The Indian firm has planned to deploy Fiber To The Home (FTTH) service and already started the trials in cities like Mumbai and Delhi, JioMedia has also made available its STB, routers and Power Line Communication devices as well.
The company declared: “On Jio’s network, peak simultaneous video streams seen on a daily basis are more than double of that seen at the Super Bowl event in the USA. This is indicative of the strength of the network being delivered by Jio. In terms of network speeds, reports by TRAI’s speed analytics portal and other independent agencies have qualified Jio’s data speed as the best in the industry on an ongoing basis”
Jio already own more than 100000 mobile towers and plan to double this number in a few months’ time which will give the company an advantage compared to its direct competitors.
The company announced the creation of a premium content called Jio Prime Offer and a month later 72 million people went to subscribe to this new offer making it the fastest and most successful privilege programme in the world.
The firm also started the creation of SIM cards which are knowing a great success due to the Jio’s bouquet of applications. In order to complete their success story Jio has also created a Mobile number portability (MNP) service allowing customers to keep their current number when switching operators.
