Reliance Jio is boosting up the content collection of its over-the-top (OTT) app, Jio TV. Alongside its content library, the company is also enhancing its offering in relation with Direct-to-Home (DTH) and cable TV service provider.
The OTT service now offers 432 channels across 15 regional languages, with the addition of 20 more channels on top of the 412 existing one. The platform, to recall, was offering 368 channels in September last.
Among the 432 channels offered, 148 of them are Hindi, 62 of them are English channels while 49 channels are Telugu. This is followed by 39 Tamil channels, 22 Kannada channels, 26 Malayalam channels, 17 Marathi channels, 16 Oriya channels, 14 Bengali channels, 12 Assamese channels, 9 Gujarati channels, 5 Bhojpuri channels, 6 Punjabi channels, 6 Urdu channels and 1 Nepali channel.
The channels’ content revolves around entertainment, infotainment, kids, movies, music, news, sports, business, lifestyle and devotional. With Jio TV, users can also watch Hotstar premium service since the platform is in partnership with Hotstar, the video-on-demand (VOD) service of Star India.
