Reliance Digital TV, the direct-to-home (DTH) platform of Reliance Communications, has seen its subscribers remain unchanged for the second consecutive quarter. With less than 6% share of the DTH market, the number of subscribers stays at 5 million as of June 2016.
Being available at nearly 37350 outlets across several cities in the country, the platform reached the brink of 5M in the quarter ended 31 December 2015. The number has neither increased nor decreased since then, despite RCOM has strengthen the retail and distribution reach and its wireless network infrastructure for DTH expansion.
To recall, Reliance Digital TV provides a complete combination of standard-definition (SD), high-definition (HD) and HD DVR set-top boxes and a large channel bouquet. By using a new technology advancement, the operator offers all 299 channels in HD-like quality and provides a nationwide DTH service with MPEG4 technology.
