REDTV, the fast-paced online lifestyle channel offering information and entertainment, is marking its presence over the Francophone African countries. The channel will also screen its francophone TV series, Boutique Hotel.
The new series features a young woman. Lola Durant (Alexandra Amon), taking the reins of a hotel residence once run by her widowed mother. She became the manager of the hotel by force and happen to face an uncommon staff and unusual clientele.
The channel is in association with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and has thus extended its reach, beyond the Anglophone countries, into 10 French-speaking countries where the UBA has its operations.
Sarata Kone, the Managing Director of UBA Cote d’Ivoire, noted: “Africans should present Africa in a new light, it is up to Africans to change the vision the world has concerning it”.
On the other hand, Bandama Maurice, Minister of Culture, commented: “a development where an organisation like REDTV takes it upon itself to reset the Africa narratives by projecting it as a continent that offers opportunities to its ambitious and talented youth, is not only welcome, but is indeed laudable”.
