Pay TV operators to raise price of Premium soccer bundle in Argentina

The largest pay TV operators in Argentina will raise the price of the so-called “Soccer Pack”, which includes TNT Sports and Fox Sports Premium, the TV networks that broadcast all the matches of the local tournament. The subscription price will increase by 10% from AR$ 300 (USD 14.7) to AR$ 330 (USD 16.2).
Both Cablevisión and DirecTV, which account for 70% of the pack’s subscribers, have confirmed the increase, according to La Nación daily. This is the first time that the service increases its price since it was launched in August 2017. The new price will be valid from May for Cablevisión customers and April for DirecTV clients.
According to industry sources cited by La Nación, the Premium soccer bundle has already reached 1.8 million subscribers throughout the country.
Meanwhile, Fox and Turner, the owners of the TV rights of the local championship until 2022, announced that they will broadcast the game between Boca and River for the final of the Supercopa Argentina, which will be played on March 14. Both companies will televise the game through the networks of the “Soccer Pack”.
