The Parliamentary Committee on information and broadcasting has pressured the ZNBC a state-owned television and radio in order to push national content onto their agendas.

Even Though in 2014 ZNBC already opened up to the local content as at the time the channel Director of programmes Berry Lwando announced an investment of ZMW 21 million US $ 4 million for the creation of 2 local TV channels.

The Committee led by Mwansabombwe Member of Parliament declared that the national broadcaster must promote local content. To which Miriam Tongo Station Manager answered that despite some challenges of economic and technical natures the station is doing whatever they can to promote the said content.

Miriam Tonga added that 2 local documentaries are under production.
