ALT Balaji, the OTT platform of Balaji Telefilms has found a large audience abroad, countries with big Indian Diaspora such as UK, Australia and UAE have shown interest for the Indian company.
The success of the OTT player is said to be due to its various partnerships for original and exclusive content. ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd CEO Nachiket Pantvaidya declared: “We have created a platform for original and exclusive Indian content that fills the gap between what Indian TV shows and Western shows have to offer”.
“We are showcasing original and exclusive content in languages like Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil and Gujarati, which will appeal to a broad spectrum of South Asian audiences globally, and we are happy to discover that even non-Indian audiences subscribed to our shows and are enjoying them,” he added.
Acknowledging the fact that original and exclusive content is the key success for an OTT platform, ALT Balaji had to step-up their offer. As of today, the service will release new shows every two weeks. These new shows will feature famous India’s talents such as Juhi Chawla, Nimrat Kaur, Rajkumar Rao, Yudhishtar Urs, Dipannita Sharma Atwal and more. More than 250 hours of original and exclusive content is present as well as available in multiple languages such as Bengali Tamil or Gujarati.
