Orange extends IPTV agreement in Lebanon

Orange Business Services has agreed a two-year extension to its contract providing infrastructure and managed IPTV services for Solidere, the Lebanese company responsible for the development and reconstruction of the Beirut Central District. Solidere’s IPTV services deliver a range of movies, sports and TV programmes which are streamed directly to residents’ TVs over its broadband network designed, built, and operated by Orange.

“Orange Business Services is delighted to renew the contract with Solidere, whose flagship real estate development provides a showcase for IPTV and demonstrates the added value that ICT can bring to premium real estate projects,” said Jean-Luc Lasnier, General Manager Middle East & Africa, Orange Business Services.

Lasnier said the contract extension reflects the positive ongoing demand for IPTV services in more than 1,500 households in Lebanon’s most prestigious real estate project. In 2008, Orange Business Services and Solidere were the first to launch broadcast and on-demand HDTV over IPTV in the Middle East on a commercial basis.
