New online film festival launches in Argentina

The International Film Festival of the Countries of the South of the World (Ficsur in Spanish) will have its online version, which will be held from October 25 to 28. It will be available free on OctubreTV, the new VOD platform for local and international audiovisual content.
Ficsur Online is the online edition of the festival that was born in 2017 with the intention of making films from Latin America, Africa and Oceania visible. In turn, OctubreTV is a new signal of Grupo Octubre and is headed by the filmmaker Paula de Luque.
In this edition, 18 countries participate in the international competition (which includes fiction, documentaries and short films) and there are more than 50 films centered on the Women and Cinema axis. The festival will have as judges the directors Natalia Garagiola, Virna Molina and Andrea Testa, the Chilean actress Francisca Gavilán and the Argentine actress Marina Glezer, among others.
