New DTT channel launched in Chile

The University of Santiago de Chile has officially launched the new DTT channel STGO.TV, which is available 24 hours on frequency 48.1 in the Metropolitan Region, with educational and cultural content.
“Today is a historic day for us, but it is also for the inhabitants of the Metropolitan Region, who now have a new regional, public, educational and cultural, non-profit, secular, inclusive and plural channel,” said the rector of the institution, Juan Manuel Zolezzi.
“We know that among the expectations that the population has regarding digital TV, an increase in educational and cultural programming is in the first priority. I am certain that we are able to meet these expectations,” Zolezzi added.
The official launch ceremony was held in the offices of the former National Congress and with the participation of the President of the Senate, Carlos Montes, and the President of the Education and Culture Committee of the Upper House, Yasna Provoste. In addition to DTT, live programming is also available on its website www.santiagotelevision.cl.
