Netflix reportedly planning new interactive TV shows

Netflix is developing a number of special projects that will allow users to choose the next storyline in a TV episode or movie, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The first of these initiatives is expected to launch before the end of this year.
According to Bloomberg report, users will be able to test this format in one episode of the fifth season of “Black Mirror,” which is expected to be released in December.
This way, the show created by Charlie Brooker would become Netflix’s first interactive TV experience for adults. The streaming giant has already released episodes under the “choose-your-own- adventure” model (beginning with “Puss in Boots: Trapped in an epic tale“) but designed for a kids’ audience.
According to the people, the company has closed a deal for at least one more live-action project, and is negotiating the rights to others. Two of the projects are adaptations of video games.
