Netflix reached 125 million subscribers in Q118

Netflix added 7.4 million subscribers in Q118 (including courtesy accounts), more than the 6.3 million expected by analysts. The service reached 125 million members worldwide (118.9 million are paid accounts).
In the United States, Netflix added 1.9 million members and reached 56.7 million (55.1 million paid accounts). In the international market, it added 5.5 million users, reaching 68.3 million (63.8 million paid users). The streaming giant does not report how many subscribers it has in Latin America.

In the streaming business, the company reported total revenues of USD 3.6 billion, of which USD 1.8 billion belong to the US market. Netflix said revenues grew 43% compared to Q117, “the fastest pace in the history” of the streaming business.
Netflix highlighted the launch and performance of several of its original productions, including the sci-fi thriller “Altered Carbon”, the new season of “Jessica Jones” and the series “The End of the F *** ing World”. In turn, the company continued investing in international series such as the Brazilian “O Mecanismo” (The Mechanism) and “La Casa de Papel” (Money Heist), which became the most watched non-English series on Netflix ever and was recently renewed for a third season.
