Netflix launches 30-second previews on mobile app

Netflix has launched a new feature that allows users to watch 30-second previews of TV shows and movies in the company’s mobile app, in Snapchat-style. Each preview is presented in a vertical format, so users can watch them without turning their phones.
Currently, it is available for iOS devices and, according to the company, is coming to Android soon. “With the launch of mobile previews, we are bringing a video browse experience to your mobile phone in a fun and mobile-optimized way”, said Netflix in a press release. Last year, the company had introduced video previews to the TV experience.
During the Q118 results presentation, Netflix chief product officer Gregory Peters said that the company want to access more to the mobile market and the group of consumers who basically only want to interact with Netlfix through mobile devices. At the end of Q118, the streaming giant reported 125 million total members and revenues of USD 3.6 billion, up 43% from previous year.
