MultiChoice Swaziland, Zimbabwe raises DStv subscription fees

MultiChoice Zimbabwe and Swaziland will implement an annual price increase for DStv subscriptions from April 1, 2014 – following the lead of DStv South Africa which hiked subscription prices early this week.

The increases will be across six local bouquets including Premium, Extra, Compact, Family and Select. Phumi Drummond, GM at MultiChoice Swaziland said that this has been necessitated by business operating costs which include satellite costs, channel costs and operational costs.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe said that the company has taken into account many factors including the impact on the subscriber, current inflation and corporate efficiencies that might offset the need for a price increase, but rising business costs made the rise necessary.
