MTV announced the launch of “MTV Legends of Gaming: Cup Latin America”, the new competition show that will award the best “gamer” of the region. The show will be produced by the network and Endemol Shine and will debut on the TV Everywhere app MTV Play on March 7.
“MTV Legends of Gaming: Cup Latin America” will bring together eight gamers YouTubers from Latin America, who will compete in 31 battles over 16 weeks. The competition will include different titles and video game formats. Two weeks after each premiere, the videos will be available on the official YouTube channel of the show. In addition, MTV will present every week a summary with scores and progress of the competition. Participants will be announced shortly.
This TV format was adapted in Brazil last year, and will now make its debut in Latin America through the MTV Play app, which already recorded more than 7 million downloads in the region, only a year after its official launch.
“After the success of our adaptation for Brazil, we are excited to bring the format to Latin America, one of the largest gaming markets in the world,” said Tiago Worcman, SVP & Brand Manager for MTV Latin America. “This is the first time we’ve created a show of this magnitude to premiere on MTV Play as first screen.”
