MTN Music+, the subscription-based streaming platform of MTN South Africa, has now a revamped version of the online music streaming and downloading platform. The platform has been re-launched in view of empowering local artists.
Users will have access to numerous functionalities and will include a music collection with more than 670000 tracks consisting of both local (40%) and international (60%) tracks.
According to CAJ News, Maxwell Nonge, the Chief Digital Officer of MTN SA, said: ” At the heart of our endeavours into the music space is the belief that we need to partner with artists and empower them to take control over the success of their brand”.
“This product is an extension of a bigger plan to digitise, commercialise and support the local music industry. We believe that the revised offering will also help to combat piracy and will further bolster the live music market in South Africa”, he further added.
The service will be priced at 3.50 ZAR (0.27 USD) daily and 25 ZAR (1.93 USD) weekly. With its number of subscribers amounting to 30,8 million, MTN is the second-biggest operator in South Africa.
