MTN and Huawei have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the objective to offer more digital services to African consumers and businesses.
The two corporations declared their strategy in a joint statement announcing an important part of their 17-year strategic working collaboration.
According to the contract, cooperation in strategic research, business scenario design, joint product development and joint go-to-market solutions would be boosted.
In the arrangement, the two companies decided to extend active data growth, rich media services, mobile financial services, enterprise and wholesale businesses from the traditional voice and data service cooperation.
MTN Group Chief Operating Officer, Jens Schulte-Bockum declared MTN is ready to partner with Huawei to bring more advantages to the public and society, to further eradicate the digital divide in [Africa and Middle East] countries, improve people’s lives, and reach the vision of Digital MTN.
Schulte-Bockum further stated, “MTN attaches great importance to cyber security, which is a global technical challenge. MTN will work with global partners to solve this problem and provide sustainable, stable and reliable digital services for the public and society.”
